In a normal YDS season four events are held. At the end of the season the points from your best 3 YDS competitions are added together to make your season points total. If you have entered all 4 competitions in the season you ignore your lowest scoring event.
The following conditions are based on a standard four event YDS season. A season is August to June, however if we are unable to hold four YDS events in a season such as during initial Covid lockdown and the subsequent tentative return to fencing, it is at the discretion of the Foundation as to whether salvers and series medals are presented.
Series winners salvers and series winners medals will only be awarded to fencers who have competed in at least three of the seasons four YDS events. The salvers and medals will not be awarded if you have competed in less than three YDS events.
At the final YDS competition of the season series winner salvers and series winners medals will be presented to the fencer in each age/weapon category with the greatest number of season points (3 of 4) at the YDS Finalé event. (event 4 of 4)
If at the end of the season final YDS event points are tied between fencers in an age/ weapon group, then the series winner will be decided by:
If condition 1) is met then series winners salver and series winners medal are presented, otherwise if fencers are still tied then follow condition 2) if still tied then condition 3) if still tied then condition 4)
